Mastering the Access Cavity: A Smarter Way to Train with the Smart Tooth Model
If you get the access cavity right, the rest of the root canal treatment flows much more smoothly. That’s why many say access preparation is more than half the battle in endodontics.
But how can we master it?
1. Know the Anatomy First
To prepare a proper access cavity, you must understand the tooth's internal structure—pulp chamber shape, pulp horn locations, and canal orifice positions. This is where Dental EndoMaster, our endodontic training app, becomes your best friend. It helps you build a strong mental image of what's inside each tooth before you ever pick up a handpiece.
2. Practice—But Smarter
You’ve probably trained on extracted teeth. That’s a solid method, but let’s be honest—it has limits. Each tooth is different, and the internal anatomy is often unknown.
Now imagine this: you use the exact same 3D tooth model you trained on in Dental EndoMaster, but physically, on your desk.
That’s the Smart Tooth Model.
Introducing the Smart Tooth Model
Each model comes in a package labeled with a model number matching those in the Dental EndoMaster app. That means you can simulate virtually before you practice physically.
🧠 Scan the QR code on the package to view detailed internal structures. Get to know the canals before drilling.
Here’s what’s inside each package:
(1) Double Size Model with Access Open
A 2× enlarged version of the tooth with the access cavity already prepared.
Splits into two parts so you can clearly observe the pulp chamber and internal anatomy.
The access cavity was designed based on a central cross-section of pulp chamber.
Use this to study the shape of the pulp chamber, orifices, and access form.
(2) Real Size Model with Access Open
A life-size model with the access cavity pre-formed.
Mount it on a dentiform.
Practice adjusting the cavity, smoothing walls, and refining form.
Perfect for getting the feel of shaping.
(3) Real Size Model (No Access)
This one’s the final test.
Mount it on a dentiform and start from scratch.
Rely on what you learned in the app and from the other two models.
With four identical copies included, you can repeat the training and truly master access cavity preparation.
Why It Works
The Smart Tooth Model doesn’t just throw you into trial-and-error. It combines conceptual understanding (from the app) and hands-on practice (with real models). It's a step-by-step training process that guides you from anatomy to mastery.
Let your hands and brain work together—and prepare smarter, not harder.
